I was wondering how much of a performance impact I should be expecting to see from using xivlauncher with Pixel Perfect and Simple Tweaks. I'm usually seeing that the FF14's performance is already hitting CPU cap (just for 1 core) despite my CPU being decently powerful (9900K OC'd).
I actually like the fact that this affects my GUI too. With Shaders, affecting UI would be annoying since it tries to apply all sorts of effects. However, this is just a simple saturation and contrast increase. As you can see, the GUI doesn't look that much different, except a lot less grey: Hotbar and chat before. Hotbar and chat after Ffxiv devs have a weird hardon for making the server do everything and not trusting the client. This is what they really mean when they say "strain on the server". My favorite example is the blacklist. There is 0 reason for the blacklist to be handled server side, since it doesn't affect anything the server does (ie, duty matching). Note In order for this tweak to work properly, please make sure "Show Experience Percentage" is disabled in Simple Tweaks. Off the top of my head I recommend Simple Tweaks, NoClippy, Penny Pincher, MacroChain (for crafting), Penumbra (for aesthetic/appearance mod management), and Glamourer (absolute god for glamour previews) for general QoL purposes. First few are trivial to set up, last 2 are a bit more involved or use.
